Jillian Mayer is the weirdest person on the internet and it gives me something to aspire to.

Jillian Mayer first caught my attention after her video "I am your grandma" went viral.  Ever since I have followed the work of her and her Miami compatriots via their on-line brand identity: Borscht Corp.  Mayer's work is like the dream mind of a cyborg / human love child.  It is intelligent and strange, complex yet irreverent, both deep and lively.  Despite persistent themes of digital assimilation, the films still have a visceral quality reminiscent of the analog's death rattle in the eighties and nineties.  The latest upload on the Jillian Mayer YouTube channel is a scene from her installation in Salt Lake City, Utah.  It is characteristically weird and thoughtful, and it elevates chroma key green to its rightful place as the premiere symbolic color of our profoundly digital culture.
